Women’s Health Nutrition FAQs
Choosing the right nutrition support can raise a lot of questions. Below are some of the most common things women ask us before booking an appointment.
Who needs to see a women's health Dietitian?
Our women’s health nutrition services support women who are navigating hormonal changes, fertility planning, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or long-term health concerns and want personalised, evidence-based care.
Do I need to be trying to lose weight to work with a women’s health dietitian?
No. Many women work with us for reasons unrelated to weight, including hormonal health, gut issues, fertility, pregnancy, fatigue, or managing symptoms like nausea or bloating. Our approach focuses on health, nourishment and wellbeing — not weight loss unless it’s something you want to work on.
Can a dietitian really help with hormonal conditions like PCOS or endometriosis?
Yes. While nutrition can’t “cure” hormonal conditions, personalised dietary support can help manage symptoms such as fatigue, inflammation, insulin resistance, digestive issues and cycle irregularity. Our dietitians take a whole-person approach that considers hormones, gut health and lifestyle.
I’m pregnant — is it too late to get nutrition support?
Not at all. Nutrition support can be helpful at any stage of pregnancy. We support women with trimester-specific nutrition, managing nausea or reflux, gestational diabetes, and ensuring key nutrients are adequate to support both mum and baby.
I’ve had a difficult relationship with food or dieting — will this be a judgement-free space?
Yes. We take a non-judgemental, compassionate approach and do not use restrictive or diet-focused strategies unless appropriate and agreed upon. Many women come to us after years of dieting or feeling dismissed — our goal is to support trust, confidence and sustainable habits.
Can I get support if I’m not pregnant yet but planning to conceive?
Absolutely. Preconception nutrition support can help optimise nutrient stores, cycle regularity and overall health before pregnancy. We support individuals and couples of all genders who are planning for pregnancy.
What happens in the first appointment?
Your first appointment focuses on understanding your health concerns, symptoms, goals and lifestyle. Together, we develop practical, evidence-based strategies that suit your needs. There’s no pressure, no one-size-fits-all plans, and no judgement.
How do I find a dietitian near me?
If you’re looking for a women’s health dietitian near you, our team offers in-person appointments in selected locations as well as Australia-wide telehealth. This means you can access specialised women’s health nutrition support wherever you live.
Still unsure if women’s health nutrition is right for you?
A first appointment is a chance to talk through your concerns and explore whether ongoing support feels right — with no pressure to continue.
